Wagga Wagga to Geelong

P4P (Pedal For Prostate) is a non-profit group established in 2013 by a group of cyclists from the Geelong / Ballarat area who were getting together in an organised ride to cycle from Adelaide to Geelong over a six day period via the Great Ocean Road in March 2014.

The sole beneficiary of their efforts is the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA). All of the riders are within the risk bracket for this disease that will affect 1 in 5 males in Australia before the age of 65.

The group comprises riders from a variety of backgrounds, with a varying amount of cycling experience; however none of them had previous to their first ride undertaken such a challenging venture. The youngest rider was 40 years and the oldest 59 years. They are all amateur riders who ride as a rule for recreation.  A number of the group have been directly affected by prostate cancer.

2016 will see the group embark on a challenge like no other. The dates of the challenge are 27 February 2015 to 4 March 2016. The 2016 Tour de Highlands will challenge every single rider no matter their background or capabilities. The ride will see the riders travel over 850km over seven days. The ride begins in Wagga Wagga and travels through Wodonga, Porpunkah, then sees cyclists take on the Mt Buffalo "Challenge", and continues to Wangaratta, Shepparton, Bendigo, Dalesford and finishes in Geelong.

All of their fundraising is based around requests for donations, sales of advertising items for the PCFA, sausage sizzles and auctioning of donated items by sponsors.
