ADT with early salvage radiotherapy benefits patients with aggressive prostate cancer

Surgery to remove a localised prostate cancer can effectively cure that cancer. But unfortunately for men with higher-risk, localised prostate cancer, the disease can return. Radiotherapy is usually offered to patients with rising PSA levels after surgery. A new trial has tested the benefit of androgen deprivation therapy added to this radiotherapy. The results showed that only patients with specific disease features benefitted from this combined treatment.
