  • The new Community First Low Rate Blue Visa Card is the latest in a range of accounts that demonstrate Community First Credit Union’s ongoing commitment to the community.
  • Of the new card’s $40 annual fee, half will be donated to the Prostate Cancer Foundation to help fund their important work, every year the card is held.
  • The Low Rate Blue Visa Card will offer a low ongoing interest rate of 8.99%p.a.* for purchases, balance transfers and cash advances.

PCFA is receiving a funding boost with the launch of the Community First Blue Visa Card that will help transform prostate cancer care and support in Australia.

Community First is partnering with PCFA to launch a low rate credit card to raise money to help reduce the impact of prostate cancer on Australian men, their partners and families.

Prostate cancer is the most diagnosed cancer in men in Australia, and alarmingly, Australia has one of the highest incidence rates globally, with one in every six Australian men likely to be diagnosed during their lifetime. Prostate cancer also takes the lives of approximately 3,500 Australian men every year.

Of the new card’s $40 annual fee, half will be donated to the Prostate Cancer Foundation to help fund their important work, every year the card is held. The new Low Rate Blue Visa Card will offer a low ongoing interest rate of 8.99%p.a.* for purchases, balance transfers and cash advances.

PCFA Chief Executive Officer Professor Jeff Dunn AO congratulated Community First for giving back to the community by supporting Australians impacted by prostate cancer.

“Every 25 minutes one of our fathers or sons will hear the news he has prostate cancer. Thanks to Community First, we’re doing something about it.

“This is a win for anyone who wants a low-fee card that offers high-value by giving back to the community.

“Community First is walking the talk once again – providing value that goes beyond the bank to benefit Australian men and their families.

“We commend Community First for banking on hope that we can beat this disease, which impacts more than 200,000 Australian men and their loved ones.”

Mr John Tancevski, CEO of Community First, said, “We’re incredibly proud to have the opportunity to help raise awareness and support for PCFA while giving more Australians access to a great value credit card.”

The Blue Visa Card joins Community First’s existing products that fulfil their commitment to the community, including the Pink Visa Card proudly supporting the McGrath Foundation and low-rate loans for environmentally friendly home improvements such as solar hot water systems, solar panels and insulation.

Mr Tancevski continued, “At Community First, our philosophy is to meet our members’ needs while also supporting the community. By supporting important organisations such as the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, we can actively make a difference in communities all around Australia through socially and financially compelling solutions.”
