Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA) is proudly bringing our Community Conversations forum to Sydney, providing an opportunity to discuss the latest research and management of prostate cancer.

This free interactive forum will include

• A straightforward overview of the current treatment options for patients
• The latest developments from PCFA-funded research leading the way to improve management of prostate cancer
• Recommendations that may assist in managing the side effects of prostate cancer treatments
• Q&A session with health professionals on managing the day-to-day challenges of living with prostate cancer
• Personal stories shared by those who have experienced prostate cancer

Julie McCrossin talks to people for a living. After 20 years as a broadcaster with ABC Radio National, ABC TV and Network Ten, she is now a freelance journalist and facilitator.

Speakers

Professor Suzanne Chambers AO
is a health psychologist and registered nurse with 30 years of experience in psychological support for people with cancer. She is a behavioural science researcher specialising in the fields of psycho-oncology and cancer survivorship. Prof Chambers is Dean of the Faculty of Health at the University of Technology Sydney and Principle Investigator of the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence in Prostate Cancer Survivorship.

Professor Jeff Dunn AO
is the Chief Executive Officer of Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia. He was previously Chair and Research Director of Social Behavioural Science with University of Southern Queensland's (USQ's) Institute for Resilient Regions and before that Chief Executive Officer of Cancer Council Queensland, a role he held for almost 15 years.

Associate Professor Louise Emmett
is a nuclear medicine physician at St Vincent's Public Hospital and a researcher at University of New South Wales. She is heavily involved in multidisciplinary prostate cancer research in imaging and therapy, including GaPSMA PET and LuPSMA trials.

Judith Jeffery
is a Prostate Cancer Specialist Nurse at St George Public Hospital bringing 30 years of oncology experience across many types of treatment. Her role includes providing care and support to men on all treatment types for prostate cancer with a main interest in those with advanced prostate cancer.

Professor Rob Newton
is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist and researcher at Edith Cowan University. He heads a world-leading research group who have demonstrated the benefits of exercise as a medicine to improve treatment side effects and quality-of-life for men with prostate cancer.

Jan Priaulx
is Team Lead in 131120 Information and Support at Cancer Council NSW. She is a Registered Nurse, with over 15 years’ experience with Cancer Council in Supportive Care including as a consultant for their Connect Peer Support Program and as a facilitator for the Telephone Support Group Program.

Adjunct Professor Sally Sara
is the Director, Nursing Programs at Prostate Cancer Foundation Australia. She holds a Master of Clinical Nursing and has 30 years nursing experience in a broad range of specialty areas, with a strong interest in improving health care and quality of life outcomes for men diagnosed with prostate cancer. In 2014 Sally established the Prostate Cancer Specialist Nurse Service in the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network, a position she held until 2018.
