Our commitment to you

When you make an appointment, you will be given a time for a consultation with a specially trained PCFA nurse counsellor or a psychologist.

You will be offered up to five consultations at no cost. Each session may last for up to 50 minutes, and may be scheduled weekly, fortnightly, or at different intervals depending on your needs. You may like to have a support person with you for the session, which will be provided by phone or via video conference. To join via video conference, you will need to set up video meeting software such as Zoom on your computer or another suitable device, such as a smart phone.

The service is available during business hours, with after hours appointments arranged on request.

How we can help

We can help you adjust to the challenges of diagnosis, treatment, and life after treatment.

The types of psychological and emotional issues we can assist you with include but are not limited to stress management, coping with sexual concerns, overcoming worry and uncertainty, relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, and coping with loss.

To access the service simply call 1800 22 00 99 and talk to one of our Prostate Cancer Specialist Nurses about a referral, email a nurse to have an initial discussion regarding whether the counselling service is right for you, or complete the Counselling Request Form via the button below.

Once your referral is received, it may take around two business days for us to contact you and schedule your first appointment. Your first appointment will be an opportunity for our team to talk to you more about your situation and agree on a counselling plan for you.
