As medical bills soar each year, the financial pressures for many men faced with prostate cancer can be a huge unexpected burden to families. A new study by PCFA and Griffith University will investigate the true financial burden to men diagnosed with prostate cancer and the impact this has had.
The aim of the study is to document the economic burden faced by patients and families affected by prostate cancer, to examine out-of-pocket expenses, the impact on employment and the experiences with the public health system and health insurers.
The research will be used to develop information and resources for the Australian community and to help PCFA to advocate for ‘a better deal’ from the public health system and health insurers.
We are calling for volunteers to complete a short, one-off, 20-minute survey at this online link:
