Joey Scandizzo Salon calls on hairdressers to get in their boxers to support prostate cancer awareness
Hairdressers at Joey Scandizzo Salon in South Yarra are calling on salons to join them in the fight against prostate cancer. The award winning team bared their pins in cheeky boxer shorts as they cut, coloured and styled hair during Prostate Cancer Awareness Month in September to kick off Hairdressers For Hope.
The initiative is part of leading salon professional brand for thinning hair, NIOXIN’s, Hope-Full Hair Campaign in partnership with Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA).
Launched in salon nationwide, NIOXIN will donate $5 from the sale of each new limited edition Hope-Full Hair Boost Pack to PCFA's fight against prostate cancer. Last year, the inaugural campaign raised over $19,000 for PCFA, and NIOXIN hopes to exceed this success in 2014.
This year, the Hope-Full Hair Boost Packs will include NEW DiaBoost, a breakthrough leave-in treatment that uses Hair Thickening Xtrafusion (HTXTM) technology to combat hair thinning by boosting the thickness of each hair strand – providing the appearance of 11,000 more hair strands.
Hairdressers for Hope aims to make a difference by encouraging salons to join in with creative ideas, like a boxer shorts fundraising day, to raise awareness and much needed funds for the important cause. Participating hairdressers can track their results on the Hairdressers for Hope website with NIOXIN sponsoring prizes for the top fundraisers.
NIOXIN spokesperson and Wella Commercial Leader ANZ, Mark Giannandrea, comments: "As a leading salon brand committed to renewing confidence in the lives of Australians through superior anti-thinning haircare solutions, NIOXIN is proud to be partnering with PCFA for a second year running. Through our work with PCFA and Hope-Full Hair, together with the hairdressing community, we’re helping to raise awareness and vital funds to support and make a real difference to the lives of the many Australian men diagnosed with prostate cancer and their families."
Associate Professor Anthony Lowe, CEO of Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia also comments: "We're delighted to be partnering with NIOXIN for a second year on their Hope-Full Hair campaign. Each day 54 men across Australia are diagnosed with prostate cancer - its impact is felt throughout the wider community including partners, families and friends. Funds raised by this campaign help fund invaluable research, awareness and support programs which allows us to continue our work in reducing the impact of prostate cancer in Australia."
Salons are invited to join in to help make a difference to Australians affected by prostate cancer by contacting a NIOXIN Sales Consultant today or heading to the NIOXIN Facebook page.
