31 January 2014

World Cancer Day is a chance to raise awareness about cancer, advocate for improving general knowledge around cancer and dismissing misconceptions about the disease.

World Cancer Day 2014 is building on the success of last year's campaign, by again focusing on Target 5 of the World Cancer Declaration: Reduce stigma and dispel myths about cancer, under the tagline "Debunk the myths". These myths are:

  1. We don't need to talk about cancer
  2. Cancer, there are no signs and symptoms…
  3. There is nothing I can do about cancer
  4. I don't have the right to cancer care

PCFA encourages everyone to acknowledge World Cancer Day. Your activity can be large or small. It is an opportunity to collectively show commitment to reducing the burden of cancer in our community.
