All around Australia, men are sleepwalking into expensive treatment for prostate cancer, not realising there are cheaper options that are just as good.
Afterwards many are left suffering from the recently coined side effect of "financial toxicity".
Many have no clear understanding of how much the treatment is going to cost and that this could be so distressing that, in some cases, it could leave them with regrets about their decision and affect their quality of life.
