Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA) would like to congratulate the founders of the Long Ride Chris and Gail Dunne, for being awarded The Medal of the Order of Australia in the Queen's Birthday ceremony held on 13 June 2016.
The Medal of the Order of Australia is highest recognition for outstanding achievement and service. Chris and Gail received their award in recognition of their service to the community through The Long Ride, the fundraising and awareness event they founded. Through this event they've been providing support to PCFA since 2007.
The Long Ride, now its eighth year, is a national motorcycle ride raising awareness of prostate cancer throughout regional communities across Australia. The ride has raised in excess of one million dollars for Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and has more than 450 riders across Australia who participate.
Both Gail and Chris, altruistically commit a tremendous amount of time and energy to serve the Australian community and raise aware of prostate cancer.
We attribute and commend the success of The Long Rides due to the commitment, dedication and hard work of Chris and Gail Dunne.
