Clinical practice guidelines are necessary. They are evidence-based statements that include recommendations intended to optimise patient care. The US Preventive Services Task Force is in the process of changing their guidelines for PSA screening. They have now released a draft of the new guidelines – and they are very different to the previous ones. Why such a big change?
