Men with localised prostate cancer usually choose to have curative treatment. The two main treatments for localised prostate cancer are surgery and radiotherapy. This leaves newly-diagnosed men in the sometimes-surprising position of needing to make a choice. Both treatments usually work well, but there is a significant risk of side effects. These include urinary and bowel incontinence, and erection problems. So how does a man decide which treatment is best for him?
