Prostate cancer is diagnosed by biopsy. Samples of the tumour are removed by needles during the biopsy procedure and analysed in a pathology laboratory. There are anecdotal reports that some men avoid prostate biopsies due to fear that the procedure will spread the cancer. This week's blog asks what are the risks that a biopsy could spread prostate cancer.
