Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia named Charity of Choice for Yorke Peninsula Field Days 2023

Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA) has been announced as the official Charity of Choice for Yorke Peninsula Field Days 2023.

Taking place from 26-28 September 2023 in Paskeville South Australia, Yorke Peninsula Field Days is one of the most popular and attended events in the agricultural calendar and holds a special place amongst the South Australian regional community.

With over 20,000 visitors predicted over the three-day event, PCFA CEO Anne Savage said it’s a welcome boost to prostate cancer awareness and outreach regionally.

“With prostate cancer now the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the country, and men from regional Australia facing a 24 per cent higher risk of death from the disease, sharing knowledge within rural communities about prostate cancer diagnosis, treatment options and available support is vital,” Ms Savage said.

“We give our sincere thanks to the CEO and Board of Yorke Peninsula Field Days for the honour of being named as Charity of Choice, along with the Yorke Peninsula and Copper Coast Prostate Cancer Support Network.”

PCFA will be allocated a pavilion site and given the opportunity to address the official opening ceremony.

Established in 1894, the Yorke Peninsula Field Days are acknowledged as the oldest in Australia. The three-day biennial event has a major focus on agriculture and the future with extensive displays of the latest agriculture machinery and equipment, technology, information and services on a 30 hectare static display site area.

The event program includes fashion parades, exhibitions of working sheep dogs, wool and sheep, guest speaker presentations, quality crafts and general interest products and services, housing over 600 exhibitors.
