It is with great sadness that we announce Western Australian PCFA Board Member Max Kay AM has passed away.
Max was a well-known Perth identity and one of Western Australia's leading performers and community leaders. Max devoted much of his time to charities that he was passionate about. Prostate cancer is a cause that was particularly close to his heart after having been diagnosed 12 years ago.
Max served on the WA Board of Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and was actively involved in raising awareness of the disease. He often spoke about his prostate cancer journey with community and corporate groups to promote the important message of men speaking with their doctor about being tested.
He will be remembered for his energy and commitment to prostate cancer, including his adventurous endeavour of abseiling down an office building to raise funds and awareness for the community he so tirelessly served. In 2003 Max was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for services to the entertainment industry and for charitable works. We are forever grateful to Max for the significant contribution he has made to help those affected by prostate cancer and will be greatly missed.
We send our sincere condolences to Norma, his extended family and friends.
