"What you put into life is what you get out of it," and the Wagga Wagga Prostate Cancer Support Group certainly lives up to that motto with their recent fundraising exploits.
Just a couple of months ago, their fearless crew wielded chainsaws and axes like pros, filling four trailers with wood generously donated by a group member. Why? For future raffle prizes, of course!
Despite Mother Nature throwing everything from freezing temperatures, wind and rain their way, a determined team battled on to set up a gazebo for a recent swap-meet. Some stallholders bailed due to the weather, but not them!
The day of the swap-meet turned out to be a triumph of good old Aussie mateship. There were delicious cakes, sizzling steak and onion rolls, and an incredible turnout from the community. Thanks to everyone's generosity, team Wagga Wagga smashed their previous fundraising efforts with record raffle sales and donations. All those funds will be put towards future prostate cancer awareness campaigns.
The lucky winners of their timber raffle got their wood delivered with smiles and gratitude, proving once again that every little bit counts when it comes to supporting each other.
As they look forward to their next adventure, the Wagga Wagga Prostate Cancer Support Group continues to show that with teamwork and a can-do attitude, there's no limit to what they can achieve together.
