The team at Ports North are stepping up in September to support PCFA with a month-long fundraising and awareness campaign. The company is not only raising funds but also highlighting the importance of early detection and support for prostate cancer patients and their families.

"Ports North plays a significant role in connecting communities to better lives and livelihoods, and this includes supporting the causes most important to our people and stakeholders," said a Ports North representative. This September, staff members are sporting prostate cancer blue, high-vis shirts and organising a Big Aussie Barbie on September 18th to bring together the community and staff.

Prostate cancer has impacted many within the Ports North team, with several employees, including survivors and those currently undergoing treatment, sharing their personal experiences. Rick Goffin, Ports North Manager of Port Services, is among them.

“We know that prostate cancer affects many men and their families. Nearly every one of our staff has been, or will be impacted in some way,” Rick shared. Diagnosed two and a half years ago, Rick has undergone surgery, radiation, and ongoing hormone treatments. “The support of family, work colleagues, and the PCFA should not be underestimated,” he added.

Ports North has committed to matching every dollar raised, up to $2,000, in an effort to double the impact of their efforts. Through their collective actions, the team aims to spread awareness and vital information about prostate cancer and its symptoms, bringing hope to those affected.
