Ararat PCSG

Formation

The support group was formed in 2002 and is affiliated with the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia. Offering emotional support to those affected by prostate cancer, and providing information to the general public are the main objectives of the group.

Activities

Monthly meetings which are rather informal and able to respond to members needs on the night as well as educational with updates and new information and resources..

Establishment of a resource library, enabling sharing and loaning of resources, newsletters, DVDs and books on Prostate cancer.

Several community information forums have been held in recent years to raise awareness in the district.

Development of a booklet “You 2 Have Prostate Cancer” providing support for newly diagnosed men with the support of local urologists and GPs has been a major project of the group..

A very friendly and welcoming group of men and their partners.

Meeting Dates

We meet midday on the 3^rd Wednesday of every second month ( January, March. May, July, September, November) at the Ararat RSL, 74-76 High St, Ararat VIC 3377.
