Ballarat PCSG

Formation

The group began in 2002 with about four men and their partners attending a meeting in a building of Ballarat Community Health in Sebastopol. Since then the number attending meetings has fluctuated. Now about 15-20 come to the first Tuesday of the month meeting held from 7 till 9pm at City Oval Bowling Club on Sturt Street.

Activities

The group's activities have predominately concentrated on support. However meetings often include guest speakers from medical practitioners who deal with prostate cancer sufferers and allied fields such as nursing, naturopathy and staff of the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.

Through PCFA affiliation the members have access to up to date written and computer friendly information about prostate cancer. The books, CDs and DVDs may be borrowed from the group at any time.

Meeting Details

Obviously the group consists mainly of men, their partners and families. All are encouraged to attend and share how they cope living or loving someone with prostate cancer.

We meet between 7.00pm - 9.00pm on the first Tuesday of every month at the following venue:
