Social media has rapidly changed the way people communicate and interact. Prostate cancer patients, clinicians and foundations such as PCFA use social media to discuss many different aspects of this disease. We are just now starting to understand the influence of social media on how information is shared about prostate cancer. There is enormous potential for sharing information and connecting with people, but also concerns over accuracy and confidentiality. This week’s blog describes social media for prostate cancer, based on a recent review article by Asst Prof Stacey Loeb.
